You open the drawer after a wash and find a sticky layer where the detergent should have been. Detergent drawer residue is worth checking, but a dirty drawer and a dispensing fault are not automatically the same problem. Start by describing what remains: dry powder, thick liquid, softener or water.

Detergent drawer residue: Look at one compartment at a time
The symbols on a drawer matter. Different compartments may serve the main wash, prewash and softener, while automatic dispensers follow their own settings. Use the instructions for your model instead of assuming that a drawer in an online video matches yours.
Note whether only one compartment is affected and whether the issue began after changing detergent. Keep the product name and approximate amount available. You do not need to send a purchase receipt; the type of product is what helps explain the situation.
Cleaning should follow the drawer design
Samsung recommends periodic drawer cleaning to prevent residue from interfering with dispensing. Removal methods vary. Follow the manufacturer's release and cleaning instructions rather than forcing a drawer that resists movement. Accessible cleaning is different from opening the appliance or disconnecting internal parts.
Avoid combining household chemicals or inventing a stronger cleaning mixture. If you cannot identify how the drawer releases, leave it in place and ask for model-specific advice. A clear photo of the drawer and its markings is a useful starting point.
What happens after normal care?
If the problem returns after the prescribed cleaning, record which product remains and how much of the wash has completed. Describe any water appearing around the drawer front. Do not assume that more detergent will compensate for a compartment that is not dispensing properly.
The technician needs to distinguish buildup from a problem with the dispensing path or water delivery. A photo cannot confirm that a valve or other component needs replacement, but it can show which part of the process should be inspected.
Request a washer inspection
For help in Kuwait, send Z-ONE Technical your area, model and a photo of the affected compartment. Say whether the rest of the wash completes normally. Our washing machine repair services page explains the wider service scope, including drainage, spinning and leak diagnosis.

Detergent drawer residue: five details to record
These observations help describe the problem without opening panels or guessing a failed component. Use the instructions for your exact model when considering any user care step.
- Describe where residue remains in the drawer and whether it is powder, liquid or softened material. A clear photograph before cleaning can show the original condition. Note whether the problem affects one compartment or several compartments.
- Record the detergent type and the selected programme. Follow the dosing and compartment instructions for the model and product. Do not assume that adding more detergent will solve residue, poor rinsing or an interrupted filling stage.
- Check the manual for the removable parts and approved cleaning method. A user-removable drawer differs from internal hoses or water connections. Do not force a component that will not release as described in the instructions.
- Mention whether water enters the drawer normally, leaks from the front or leaves a product behind after the programme. These observations help separate a cleaning concern from a filling or dispensing fault that needs inspection.
- Include any recent change of product or dosing method in the enquiry. If the symptom continues after the permitted care procedure, send the model label and photographs. Avoid dismantling the dispenser or touching internal electrical components.
Keep your enquiry concise: provide your area in Kuwait, appliance brand, model number, the main symptom and any displayed error. Explain when the problem began and whether it repeats. Z-ONE Technical can discuss the inspection and appointment availability from these details; a message alone does not confirm a visit or establish which part requires repair.
