Why water stays inside the drum
A washer may stop draining because the filter is blocked, the drain hose is restricted or installed incorrectly, the pump is jammed, or the pump is not receiving the correct electrical signal.

Switch the machine off before opening the drain filter. Prepare for water to escape and never work on electrical parts while the floor or appliance is wet.
Pump and control diagnosis
If the filter and hose are clear, diagnosis may move to the drain pump, wiring, connectors, pressure sensing system and control board. A humming pump does not always mean it is moving water correctly.
How drainage affects spinning
Many washers will not enter high-speed spin while water remains in the drum. This is why drainage should be checked before assuming a motor or belt failure.
